Even after we give our lives to Christ there can still be some things that keep us from experiencing all that the covenant gives us in Christ. Christ paid the ultimate price and took the penalty for our sins and trespasses against God. But, it does not stop there. What Christ did was liberate us from the dominion or rule of the enemy. (Colossians 2:14) We, however, as the Word of God instructs us in Philippians 2:12, must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. With that being said, God has revealed some serious, but awesome truths about the kingdom of darkness, covenants, and agreements that have changed my life. I pray that this helps you as it has helped me, and is continuing to help me.
God is a God of covenant. He means what he says. You can definitely take him at his word. Well, guess what? Satan also knows the value and importance of covenants! So much so that he deceives people all the time into entering a covenant with him. First, what is a covenant? In simplest terms, a covenant is an agreement made between at least two people. There is a wide variety of them, but the strongest is the blood covenant. Just as the Lord says he stands at the door of our hearts and knocks waiting for us to open the door to him, so Satan does. Neither can enter without consent. Why? Because that is the way God set things up from the beginning. We enter into a covenant with God when we accept Jesus as our lord and savior. This means that all the promises in the Word are ours. Sounds great doesn't it? But guess what? Satan also is familiar with some covenants made to him by us or our ancestors that give him a “right” to steal, kill, and destroy in our lives. Today, we are going to look at the covenant we make when we have sex (fornicate) out of wedlock.
First, let’s look at what God says about sex in the Word. We see in Genesis 1:28 God tells Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply” which indicates sexual relationship. 1 Corinthians 7:2 states that sex is to be exclusively for marriage, between husband and wife and it is good and right. It is also an act of worship between spouses. If sex is a blessing between husband and wife, what is it when it is outside of marriage?God says that sex outside of marriage is immoral and he will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.(Hebrews 13:4). But why is it so serious? Glad you asked! In 1 Corinthians 6:15-16 tells us that sex makes us one with the person we have sex with. We also can see in the Old Testament when a man and woman had sexual relations, they became married. There was no large ceremony. That is how they consummated the marriage: through sex. God has not changed that. Everything in the kingdom of darkness is an opposite of the kingdom of God. So, when we fornicate we are becoming one with the person we are committing this act with. And if we do this with several people, that means we are connecting with each and every person as they are when they fornicate with us. So, for example, if a person has sex with 4 people, in the spirit they are joined to those people. Life is spiritual. Things happen in the spirit then show up in the physical. Which brings me to my point.
Satan cannot have a hold on anyone’s life unless he has an agreement with them. In the Bible we can see that agreements(covenants) are made with one person that can affect the person’s coming generations. We are reaping the benefits of the covenant God made with Abraham years ago! So just as good covenants can affect future generations so can evil ones. But I will address that another time. When we have sex outside of marriage, what we are doing is joining ourselves to the other person AS WELL AS coming into agreement with the kingdom of darkness. When we fornicate, we are giving Satan permission to come and steal, kill, and destroy our lives. The bed (or place where we decide to engage in the act) is an altar. The actual act is a sacrifice or offering to the devil (remember, because it is disobedient to God’s word and law, it is automatically putting us in agreement with the enemy). So, when we come to Christ and get saved, we have been forgiven of all sin and become a new creature, however, since Satan is a trespasser, liar, and deceiver, he holds fast to the covenants made in sin. The Word of God says that through knowledge that the just are delivered. This means that we have to know what our rights are and what we have or else Satan will keep us bound. We have to come out of the agreement made with the kingdom of darkness when we committed fornication. This very act could be keeping us from progress in life causing delay, stagnation, sickness, etc…and we have no idea.
If you have accepted Christ as your savior, but are not a virgin, and you are seeing patterns in your life that are keeping you from success, freedom, and prosperity, there could be an evil covenant the enemy is holding against you that you created through fornication. Say this prayer:
Father, I thank you for your love and compassion that you have shown me in Christ Jesus. Thank you for saving my soul from the pit of destruction. Thank you for delivering me from him who is too strong for me. I thank you that I overcome Satan by the blood and the word of my testimony. I repent for the sin of fornication in my life with every partner that I had. I realize that fornication is a sin and gives access to the devil. In the Name of Jesus, I renounce fornication. I make a conscious decision never to enter into it ever again. Thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for the authority you have given me because of the shed blood of Jesus. I cancel and come out of agreements made with the enemy through fornication. I command that everything fornication took from me and held in its possession to give it back now! I thank you Lord that you said in your Word that when the enemy is found, they must give back 7 times what they took! That is what I command the spirit I came into agreement with through fornication to do! Thank you Lord. I look for the times of refreshing that come from repentance. Thank you for restoring back to me all that the locusts took from me because of my sin. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
Be Blessed
