Old self, New self

"Seed of Satan"= Old Self! Characteristics of old self:

  • Rebellion
  • Corruption
The in itself is good. It is the flesh that makes the Law seem "Bad". The Old self is corrupt. There's no good in it at all. It is produced from Satan. Those who don't have Christ are ruled by the Old self, which is under Satan's total rulership and domain. The old Self attracts darkness and the demonic.
The Holy Spirit works through the mirror of the Word Of God. "Do not conform →Do not allow the Old man to rule me! The Word of God reveals the 2 selves; as the Old self decreases, the New self increases. New self is opposite of Old self- it operates through yielded submission/obedience. Old self operates in submission to Satan which is rebellion.
Out with the old, in with the new.
New Self: Ephesians 4:22-24
Holiness
righteousness
incorruptible
eternal
divine
Our mind has to be exposed to the Holy Spirit. We cannot allow the Old self to have its way in our life.

The New man is:
  1. Born of God
  2. Product of Truth
  3. Righteous, Holy
  4. According to God's original plan and purpose for man! Which is restoration of God's likeness! And is being progressively renewed!
Obeying God's Word brings forth God's nature. Jesus is the living Word. The Gospel is the written Word.
Old Self: Product of deception. Satan's deception. Old self is the result of man heeding Satan's lie.

Deception produces lust!!

LUST- Perverted rebellious desire (it is contrary to the will of God). It is contrary to the well being of the one who entertains that desire!
The old rebellious nature was put to death (lost its power over us) at the cross. "Died our death" means Christ died the death that was justly due us!
Maybe that's what Satan does? Tries to rouse our Old self- thus causing us to feel old feelings, want to do the old things formerly done- to commit sin. ✱That's why we must bring our flesh under subjection to the Holy Ghost!! To ensnare, entice, seduce, lure...But then it's up to us to remind the Old self that it's dead, longer gets a say in our life. Each time we do this I become stringer in Him.
Our soul will live on. Through our faith in Christ, our soul will live on with Christ eternally. Our true self is not the body it's housed in. Be spiritually minded. The outer is just really expressing our souls intent.

An Inheritance of Restoration

Isaiah is rich in God's restoration of His people, the Church. As you read through Isaiah 54:4-6 you can see what our inheritance was as...
